A Belgian teenager passed away after an incident on the Italian ski slope of Via Lattea, according to reports from Italian media. The boy, who was just 16 years old, lost control of his skis and crashed off-piste. Despite efforts to resuscitate him in the hospital, he passed away in critical condition later that evening. His family has given permission for organ donation.

The boy had been skiing with his family on the 2,700-meter high Monte Fraiteve mountain when he lost control of his skis around 1:30pm. It is believed that he may have fallen ill suddenly and this caused him to lose control of his skis.

The incident prompted a swift response from rescue services via helicopter, who transported the boy to the hospital in Turin. However, despite resuscitation attempts in the intensive care unit, the boy’s condition proved fatal.

Italian media confirmed the tragic news of his passing on Friday evening. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time and has not made any further comments on the matter.
