Jean Martin and Christopher Erickson, who traveled from the San Francisco Bay Area, were among those eagerly awaiting the experience. This was their second total solar eclipse, having previously witnessed the phenomenon in Oregon in 2017. For them, the eclipse served as a reminder of the beauty of space, Earth, and life.
The watch party at the museum brought together a diverse crowd of people in Downtown Dallas. Astronomers from Carnegie Science in Pasadena, California were present to interact with attendees and answer questions. Jack Minard from Maryland shared that his interest in astronomy drew him to the event, reflecting on the unique opportunity to connect with scientists. Organizers had been planning the event for at least two years, and tickets sold out in February.

And then came that magical moment when everything went quiet… Then suddenly everyone started cheering as if we had just witnessed something truly extraordinary – which we had indeed done!
