On Thursday, a confirmed tornado caused significant damage to homes in St. Johns County subdivisions, as seen on video by a viewer named Joseph Raisor. The tornado was spotted in the Trailmark subdivision off Pacetti Road, south of World Golf Village. Reports of damage in the Samara Lakes subdivision were also received by WJXT-TV.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue reported one minor injury resulting from the tornado. Jamie Moody, a resident in Samara Lakes, described the sound of the tornado as similar to a freight train coming through, expressing how shocking the experience was in a comment on News4Jax.com.

The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado and deployed a survey team to assess the path, intensity, length, and width of the tornado in the area. Although several weather alerts, including a tornado watch, were issued in Central Florida, there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the Orlando area.

Cooler weather is expected following the front that brought storms to Florida. More information can be obtained from the WKMG weather team. Copyright 2024 by WKMG ClickOrlando – All rights reserved.
