Topcon Positioning Systems has formed strategic partnerships with Bentley Systems and Worldsensing to incorporate their advanced GNSS technology into software and connectivity solutions. This collaboration aims to improve geospatial data accuracy and operational efficiency across various industries.

By integrating Topcon’s GNSS technology with Bentley Systems’ infrastructure engineering software and Worldsensing’s IoT connectivity solutions, new applications and market expansions are being pioneered. These collaborations demonstrate Topcon’s dedication to driving technological adoption through innovation and partnership, as stated by Ian Stilgoe, Vice President of Emerging Business at Topcon.

With Bentley Systems, Topcon’s web-based GNSS processing engine will be integrated into Bentley’s iTwin IoT monitoring solutions, providing users with enhanced real-time geospatial intelligence for improved decision-making and operational effectiveness. This integration allows for cost-effective geospatial monitoring combined with extensive sensor data to advance infrastructure digital twins capabilities.

Worldsensing is incorporating Topcon’s AGM-1 GNSS receiver with its Thread X3 broadband product to develop a new Accurate Positioning System. This system is designed for monitoring geohazards like rockfalls and landslides in environments such as pit mines and rail embankments, enhancing safety and productivity while reducing costs. These integrations are crucial in addressing the challenges of IoT deployments and making IoT implementations more accessible and efficient for GNSS monitoring, according to David Deprez, Managing Director of Worldsensing.

The new solutions resulting from these partnerships are currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia, and EMEA, with planned expansion to South and Latin America. They facilitate monitoring and management of critical infrastructure and natural hazards through the utilization of enhanced GNSS technology.
