TikTok has recently announced a new policy that will automatically label content generated by artificial intelligence when it is uploaded from specific platforms. This move was revealed by Adam Presser, TikTok’s Head of Operations & Trust and Safety, during an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America”.

The aim of this policy is to combat misinformation by making users aware of content that has been created using AI technology. Presser emphasized the importance of allowing users to distinguish between fact and fiction, while also acknowledging the potential for AI to enhance creativity and audience engagement.

Prior to this policy change, TikTok encouraged users to voluntarily label content created or edited using AI. However, with the new automatic labeling requirement, any content that includes realistic images, audio, or video generated by AI technology will be labeled as such. This move reflects TikTok’s commitment to transparency and responsible content sharing on its platform.
