On April 1st, many Oklahomans using SoonerCare will be transitioning to a new health plan called SoonerSelect. The Oklahoma Healthcare Authority has reported that over half of SoonerCare users will be moving to this new plan.

SoonerSelect will provide coverage for non-disabled children, including those in foster care, low-income parents, pregnant women, and non-disabled adults between the ages of 19 to 64. It is important for members who are switching to SoonerSelect to confirm any changes with their healthcare provider to ensure that they are still within the network. If members have not yet received their new ID cards, they should contact MySoonerCare.org for assistance.

The focus of SoonerSelect will be on health and wellness, both inside and outside of the doctor’s office. According to Emily Long from the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority, SoonerSelect will place a strong emphasis on quality metrics to assess how the program is helping members achieve their health goals, improve health outcomes, and enhance their quality of life.

If individuals are eligible for SoonerSelect but have not yet selected this health plan, they have until June 30th to make changes to their coverage.
