The Miami Marlins finally ended their winless streak, securing a victory against the St. Louis Cardinals in a 10-3 game. This was a relief for Marlins fans, who had seen their team struggle with a tough 0-9 start to the season. With this win, every team in MLB has now won at least one game this season.

The Marlins’ offense was on fire, with Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Nick Gordon hitting three-run home runs in the first inning. Despite their rough start, Cardinals starter Kyle Gibson put up a strong performance, pitching six innings and striking out five batters while allowing seven hits. Miami pitcher Max Meyer also had a solid outing, allowing only one run and three hits while retiring the first 13 batters he faced.

While the Marlins are no longer challenging the worst winless starts in history, they still have a chance to end up with one of the worst records through their first 25 games. Manager Skip Schumaker may face consequences for the team’s poor start, as the Marlins reportedly voided his club option for 2025 during contract talks in the offseason. This means Schumaker will be free to seek employment elsewhere after the season. The Marlins will now continue their road trip with a series against the New York Yankees in the Bronx starting Monday.
