Han’s Fruit and Vegetable Market, a Korean grocer that has been a fixture on the corner of West 93rd and Broadway for 45 years, is set to close at the end of April. The market was originally opened by Han’s parents, Moon Nam Han and Ok Kum Han, in 1978 on the Upper West Side. A year and a half later, they moved to the current location, which Joo Han took over in 1998.

Former managers of Sake Bar Decibel, Shintaro Cho and Yuri Itakura, are set to open a new establishment in Chinatown called Sake Bar Asoko. Located at 127 East Broadway, near Pike Street, the new spot is described as aiming to blend the nostalgic analog culture of the early Heisei period (early 90s to mid-2000s) with a modern twist. The bar will feature a menu that highlights sake, shochu, and cocktails with flavors like yuzu.

Non-alcoholic drinks chain Boisson has made the decision to close all eight of its retail locations in order to focus on distribution and online sales. Founder Nicholas Bodkins announced the closure, labeling Boisson as a “failed venture-backed startup that grew too quickly.” The first Boisson store opened in Cobble Hill in 2021 and expanded to several other locations including Miami, Los Angeles
