In the third round of qualifying for the World Snooker Championship, two talented players emerged victorious: Neil Robertson and Noppon Saengkham. Neil Robertson, the 2010 world champion, secured a spot in the final round of qualifying after defeating Zak Surety 10-2 in Sheffield. This will be Robertson’s first time qualifying since 2006, as he dropped out of the world’s top 16. The 42-year-old Australian showcased his skill with breaks of 90 and 117 during the match.
On the other hand, Noppon Saengkham, the Thai number one, also had a successful round of qualifying. Saengkham impressed the audience with a maximum 147 break, which was the second of his career. This extraordinary performance earned him a spot in the final round of qualifying, where he will face Jackson Page of Wales for a chance to compete in the main tournament at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
Saengkham is now just one more 147 break away from a £147,000 bonus payout, which is awarded to any player who makes two maximum breaks across this season’s Triple Crown events. Mark Allen and Ding Junhui are the other two players currently in contention for the bonus, having achieved maximum breaks at the Masters in January.
