Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered at UCLA University in Los Angeles, resulting in violent clashes. Firecrackers and tear gas were thrown among other things, as dozens of counter-protesters tried to knock down the barrier made of safety rails and plywood at the pro-Palestinian encampment. Reports from the UCLA student newspaper stated that supporters of Israel were forcibly removing pro-Palestinian tents and engaging in confrontations.

The mayor of Los Angeles addressed the situation by stating that the police were responding immediately to intervene at UCLA University amidst the ongoing clashes. Meanwhile, at Brown University, students agreed to vacate the protest camp in exchange for a vote on the diversion of investments from companies associated with Israel. The university president expressed appreciation for the students’ efforts in taking steps to prevent further escalation of the situation.
