In the aftermath of a devastating tornado, Garner Industries in Lincoln, Nebraska, is facing a daunting challenge. The company’s facility near Waverly was destroyed by the EF-3 tornado that caused significant damage to its 115,000-square-foot building. As a result, 62 employees had to be laid off as the company struggled to continue operations under these circumstances.

Scott McLain, CEO and president of Garner Industries, expressed the gravity of the situation and emphasized that layoffs were necessary for the company to move forward. He stated that affected employees would receive compensation and health benefits as they navigated through this difficult time. To support its workers during this challenging period, Garner Industries organized community assistance programs, medical and mental health services, and opportunities for new employment.

Despite the destruction caused by the tornado, Garner Industries is determined to relocate its BinMaster product line to an alternate location in Lincoln. The company is working hard to overcome this setback and ensure that its operations continue uninterrupted. The community surrounding Garner Industries has shown support during this challenging time, and the company is grateful for their efforts to help it through this difficult period.

The tornado not only destroyed Garner Industries’ building but also resulted in injuries to three people. In addition to the building, other equipment such as machine tools, molding machines, and automation equipment were also damaged beyond repair.
