On Monday, Israeli forces carried out a surprise raid in the eastern part of Khan Yunis, forcing residents to flee once again as more than 200 bodies were discovered in mass graves in the courtyard of the Nasser Medical Complex. This medical center is the main hospital in the city and has been at the center of much of the conflict between Israel and Gaza.

In Rafah, Israel launched new air strikes, targeting what was once a refuge for many of Gaza’s residents who had sought shelter there. Despite recent withdrawals of Israeli ground forces from southern Gaza, intense battles have continued to rage on.

Ahmed Rizq, who sought refuge in a school in western Khan Yunis, reported that families who had returned to the Abasan area were forced to flee again as tanks entered under heavy gunfire. The ongoing violence and destruction in Gaza have left families devastated and seeking closure for their lost loved ones.

The death toll in this conflict between Israel and Gaza now exceeds 34,000 Palestinians with thousands still missing. Rescue workers at the Nasser Hospital site have been working tirelessly to recover bodies from the rubble, with more than 200 found so far.

Israeli forces claim that Hamas fighters were operating from hospitals, leading to attacks on these facilities. However, Gaza officials accuse Israel of carrying out executions at these hospitals and attempting to cover up these crimes by burying bodies with bulldozers. Relatives are coming forward to claim their loved ones’ bodies for reburial, finding comfort in laying them to rest.
