Charlotte has launched a new grant program for Business District Organizations (BDOs) situated in the Corridors of Opportunity. The S3 grant aims to support these organizations in their endeavors to serve local businesses within the area.

To qualify for the grant, organizations must be a nonprofit with an existing or pending 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 designation. They must also represent at least ten businesses in the business district they serve and have an active SAM.gov Unique Entity Identifier or fiduciary/fiscal sponsor with a UEI.

Interested applicants can submit their applications until June 14 at 5 p.m. A question-and-answer webinar will be held by city staff on May 16 at 11 a.m. To participate, individuals must register for the webinar and submit questions in advance via email to corridorsofopportunity@charlottenc.gov. The City of Charlotte’s Start-Scale-Sustain (S3) grant is designed to provide financial assistance to Business District Organizations (BDOs) located within the Corridors of Opportunity. Applications for this grant will only be accepted until June 14 at 5 p.m., so interested BDOs should act quickly if they want to apply.

For those who are unsure about how to apply, a question-and-answer webinar will be held by city staff on May 16 at 11 a.m. In order to attend this webinar, participants must first register and submit any questions they may have via email beforehand.
