The winners of the 2024 World Nature Photography Awards have been announced, with stunning underwater photos capturing marine life in their natural habitats taking the spotlight. Each year, the World Nature Photography Awards showcase breathtaking photos of the natural world and animals in the wild. This year’s competition featured underwater images that stood out among thousands of submissions from around the globe, showcasing the beauty of whales, sea lions, sea turtles, and more in their underwater environments.
Among the winning images is a grand prize-winning photo of gannets battling for a fish in the Shetland Islands. In addition to celebrating nature photography, the contest also contributes to conservation efforts. For every photo submission received and every winning photo print sold on their online store, the World Nature Photography Awards team plants a tree to help preserve these precious habitats.
The contest received over 15,000 photo submissions from photographers all over the world. Nine mesmerizing underwater photos were selected as winners, capturing stunning moments of marine life in their natural habitat. These photos not only showcase the beauty of our oceans but also raise awareness about the importance of protecting these habitats for future generations.
