The Buffalo Sabres will celebrate Jeff Skinner’s 1,000 NHL game on Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals. This will be their second meeting of the season, with the Capitals winning 4-3 in overtime in their last game.

To kick off the celebration, a pregame ceremony will take place at 6:55 p.m., featuring special giveaways for early arrivals. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative red beanie featuring Skinner’s signature, while throughout the night, Skinner-themed giveaways will be distributed.

The Sabres will wear their black-and-red alternate jerseys for the final time this season, featuring a commemorative jersey patch with the Jeff Skinner 1,000th game logo. Buffalo has an impressive home record of 18-19-1 and is overall 35-35-5 with a scoring differential of -5.

On the other hand, the Capitals have a poor road record of 16-16-4 and are overall 36-27-10 with a scoring differential of -30. Rasmus Dahlin has been a standout performer for Buffalo with 17 goals and 36 assists, while Tage Thompson has been on fire with seven goals and six assists in the past ten games.

For Washington, Tom Wilson has scored 17 goals and added 15 assists, while Alexander Ovechkin has eight goals and two assists in the past ten games. In their last ten games, the Sabres have a record of 5-5-0, while the Capitals are 6-3-1.

In terms of injuries, Buffalo will be without Mattias Samuelsson for the season due to an upper body injury and Lukas Rousek is day to day with a face injury. On the other hand, Washington will miss Nicklas Backstrom due to a hip injury and Rasmus Sandin is day to day with a lower body injury Ethan Bear is out for personal reasons
