Despite signs of a strong local economy, businesses in Narragansett, Rhode Island are still facing challenges in finding help in the hospitality industry. Joe Viele, the executive director of the Southern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, expressed optimism about the upcoming busy tourist season.

As the region prepares for the pre-summer tourist influx set to begin next month, many businesses have taken steps to improve their offerings. Examples include O’Reilly Auto Parts opening a store in Wakefield, Celeste completing renovations in Narragansett, and the opening of Tower Hill Brewing Co. in Wakefield. The brewery offers craft beers made on site in their taproom and allows patrons to bring their own food as they do not have a kitchen on site.
