The Sports Business Journal has announced the 90 nominees for the 17th annual Sports Business Awards, highlighting excellence in the sports industry over the past year. Among the nominees, there are clear trends showcasing the success of MLS, MLB, and NASCAR. Lionel Messi’s signing with Inter Miami sparked multiple nominations, including Deal of the Year for the team and Major League Soccer for League of the Year.

MLB also received nods for League of the Year, with MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and the World Baseball Classic up for Executive of the Year and Event of the Year, respectively. NASCAR rounded out the nominees with recognition for League of the Year, Deal of the Year for its media rights deals, and Event of the Year for the NASCAR Chicago Street Race.
