During her performance with Argentinian DJ Bizarrap at Coachella 2024, Shakira surprised her fans by announcing an upcoming world tour. As she rose from a platform to perform her new track, La Fuerte, the extravagant backdrop on the Sahara stage switched to reveal “Shakira, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.” The singer excitedly shared that the tour would start in November in the same city they were in.
Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is Shakira’s 12th studio album and first in seven years. Inspired by her break-up with former Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique, the album tracks the singer’s journey from heartbreak to resurgence. Shakira had teased the announcement on Instagram, saying “The wolf is coming.” She later confirmed the world tour and expressed her excitement to celebrate with her fans, her “wolfpack.”
Shakira’s last tour was in 2018 following the release of her album El Dorado. Coachella 2024 is taking place over two weekends and features headline performances from Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat, Tyler, the Creator, and a No Doubt reunion with Gwen Stefani. The annual festival held in the Colorado Desert will also have performances from London rock band Blur and South Korean DJ and singer Peggy Gou on its stages.
