World Nineball Tour (“WNT”) Matchroom Open and Invitational events are sanctioned by the Pool Regulation Authority (“PRA”), except for the World Pool Championship, which is sanctioned by the World Pool Association (“WPA”). Recent statements made by the WPA incorrectly stated that certain WNT events were sanctioned by the WPA and listed on their website. This is not accurate, and Matchroom would like to clarify that the PRA is the sole sanctioning body for all WNT Matchroom events, with the exception of the World Pool Championship.

Matchroom acknowledges the confusion that may have arisen due to the misinformation provided by the WPA. It is important to note that only the World Pool Championship is sanctioned by the WPA, while all other WNT Matchroom events are sanctioned by the PRA. For accurate information regarding the sanctioning of WNT events, please refer to official communications and announcements from Matchroom.

In conclusion, Matchroom reiterates that only one body, PRA, is responsible for sanctioning all World Nineball Tour (“WNT”) Matchroom Open and Invitational events except for World Pool Championship which is under World Pool Association(“WPA”) authority. We encourage all interested parties to refer to official communications from Matchroom for accurate details regarding the sanctioning of WNT events.
