The Seattle Seahawks are in search of reinforcements along their offensive line and are considering bringing in veteran guards to fill the gaps. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the team has expressed interest in Laken Tomlinson and has discussed bringing in Cody Whitehair for a free-agent visit.

Laken Tomlinson, 32, is a former first-round pick who played the last two seasons with the Jets, where he played every offensive snap for the franchise. In 2021, he was named to the Pro Bowl while playing for the San Francisco 49ers. Since entering the league as the No. 28 overall pick in 2015, Tomlinson has played in 146 games with 138 starts. He was released by the Jets in February.

Cody Whitehair, 31, spent his first eight seasons with the Chicago Bears before being released in February. A Pro Bowler in 2018, Whitehair played in all 17 games with 11 starts for the Bears in 2023. He was on the field for 69 percent of the Bears’ offensive snaps.

Both Tomlinson and Whitehair have extensive experience as guards and could potentially provide stability and talent to the Seahawks’ offensive line. The team is actively exploring their options to strengthen their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
