Despite a neck issue that is affecting his swing, Scottie Scheffler is still performing well at the Players Championship. On Saturday, he shot a 4-under 68, finishing with three consecutive birdies and putting him at 12-under for the tournament. This puts him five shots behind the leader Xander Schauffele.

Scheffler received treatment from a PGA Tour masseuse on Friday after the neck issue first appeared while he was playing the 11th hole. Although he woke up feeling better on Saturday, the neck pain still affected his swing. Despite this discomfort, Scheffler remains optimistic about his chances in the tournament and expressed pride in his ability to battle through the pain.

The timing of Scheffler’s neck issue is unfortunate as it comes just before the Masters in less than a month. However, he does not believe it will impact his upcoming schedule and plans to participate in the Houston Open in two weeks. Overall, Scheffler remains focused on staying competitive in the Players Championship and using his performance to carry him through to victory or a high finish.
