Scarlett Johansson is in talks to star in Universal and Amblin Entertainment’s new Jurassic World movie, alongside Jonathan Bailey. Gareth Edwards has been set as the director for the project, which will offer a fresh take on the franchise. The studio has scheduled the film to be released on July 2, 2025, and pre-production is expected to ramp up once a deal is secured.

The script for the new Jurassic World movie was written by David Koepp, and it will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley producing through Kennedy-Marshall. Although cast members from previous films are not expected to return, Bailey has a strong relationship with Universal, as he is also set to appear in their highly-anticipated Wicked adaptation. Following his performance in Fellow Travelers, Bailey earned a Critics Choice award for his work and is expected to be a contender in the upcoming Emmy race. He is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Conway van Gelder Grant Ltd in his professional endeavors.
