The 71st annual World’s Biggest Fish Fry in Henry County, Tenn. returned to Paris on April 20, marking the beginning of a community-wide celebration and kickoff festival for West Tennessee. This event attracts visitors from all over, and for a ticket price of $20, attendees can enjoy a plate of catfish, fries, coleslaw, beans, hush puppies and more at the Fish Tent which opened on April 24.

Event organizer Josh ‘Smokey’ Taylor emphasized the importance of this event in bringing people together. To cater to the thousands of visitors who flock to the fish tent each year, a significant amount of food is required. Taylor mentioned that they have 12 thousand pounds of fish, 3 or 4 thousand pounds of fries, and handmade hush puppies in abundance. This amount of food is enough to serve 320 people every hour.

The World’s Biggest Fish Fry continues until Saturday, April 27, with operating hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, event organizers have assured that they will serve the last person in line, even if it means staying open past closing time. On Friday morning, April 26, the Fish Fry Parade will kick off at 10 a.m., just one of many exciting activities taking place during the celebration.
