In 2029, Karlsruhe, Germany will be hosting the 13th edition of The World Games. This makes the city the first to organize the event twice, as it previously hosted it in 1989. The city has also hosted other major international sporting events.

Karlsruhe was nominated by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) to host the IWGA flagship event in the summer of 2029. Located in south-western Germany near the French border and at the heart of Europe, Karlsruhe is committed to providing excellent conditions for athletes.

IWGA President José Perurena expressed gratitude for Germany’s strong commitment to The World Games, emphasizing that past events in Karlsruhe and Duisburg provided excellent conditions for athletes. The 13th edition of The World Games will feature around 3,000 world-class athletes from over 100 countries and regions competing in about 35 sports.
