Measles cases in the United States are on the rise, highlighting the importance of getting vaccinated. In St. Joseph County, individuals who traveled to the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis for the solar eclipse on April 8 may have been exposed to measles. While there are no confirmed cases in St. Joseph County, it is crucial for those who visited Indy for the eclipse to be aware of the potential exposure.

To combat the spread of measles and other preventable diseases, St. Joseph County has launched a summer vaccination program running from April to August. Individuals who receive a vaccine at any of the three health department locations can participate in a raffle to win a $100 gift card. This initiative aims to protect the community from measles and other preventable diseases.

By taking proactive measures and ensuring that you and your family are vaccinated, you can help prevent the spread of measles and protect your health and well-being as well as those around you.
