The Tiangong humanoid robot, a remarkable technological innovation, was unveiled at the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone on April 27. Developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Company, Tiangong is poised to revolutionize the robotics industry with its unique features and capabilities.

Standing at 1.63 meters tall and weighing 43 kilograms, Tiangong is hailed as the world’s first full-sized humanoid robot that can operate solely through electric drive. Its open-source code allows for good development and adaptability, making it suitable for diverse applications in household services, manufacturing, and industrial settings based on market and user needs.

Equipped with vision perception sensors, high-precision inertial measurement devices, and 6-axis force sensors, Tiangong can process an incredible 550 trillion calculations per second. During its launch ceremony, the robot demonstrated its ability to adapt to complex environments and maintain a stable running speed of 6 km/h, navigating slopes and stairs with ease.

The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Zone, known as the center of the robot industry in Beijing, hosts over 110 robot companies. This industrial chain system includes core components, complete machinery, and applications that create a robust ecosystem for technological innovation and growth in the field of robotics.

Tiangong’s launch coincides with advancements in AI technology showcased at the Zhongguancun Forum 2024. These developments highlight China’s optimism surrounding AI technology’s integration into everyday life to provide meaningful tools for humans.
