The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is seeking commercial platforms that can improve the patient experience for its beneficiaries within the Military Health System Information Portal. The goal is to enhance how patient interactions and data are collected in order to better serve the needs of those receiving care.

DHA’s patient care transformation initiative is centered around three key focus areas: enhancing patient care, developing provider-supported technology in the Health Ecosystem, and acquiring data management support services. This initiative was outlined in a notice posted by the Defense Innovation Unit.

For the first focus area, DHA is looking for a commercial technology that can provide beneficiaries with easy access to care and services. This technology should seamlessly integrate with existing electronic health records and be compatible with wearables and other devices that patients may use. The aim is to streamline the patient experience and make accessing care more efficient.

In addition to this, DHA plans to expand the Health Ecosystem by introducing applications for various purposes such as scheduling, virtual nursing telemetry, remote patient monitoring, and hospital command centers. These tools are meant to reduce the administrative burden on DHA’s workforce and enhance overall efficiency within the system.

Finally, DHA is welcoming proposals from the industry that aim to give MHS users access to patient-specific health data in order to aid in decision-making processes. The agency is seeking technologies that can allow users to manipulate and present this data effectively.

Interested parties have until May 1st to submit their responses to DHA’s request for commercial platforms designed to enhance the patient experience and improve data collection within the Military Health System Information Portal.
