Xona Space Systems has announced a strategic partnership with Aerospacelab to incorporate its positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) technology into Aerospacelab’s satellite platforms. This collaboration will see Aerospacelab’s Versatile Satellite Platform (VSP) used to develop and launch Xona Space Systems’ first navigation satellite equipped with its PNT payload.
Aerospacelab is well known for its expertise in small satellite design, manufacturing, and operations, while Xona Space Systems specializes in PNT payloads. By combining their strengths, the two companies are working towards developing innovative navigation solutions that can meet the current and future demands of satellite navigation and applications.
Xona Space Systems is currently working on creating a commercial PNT service with a constellation of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. These satellites will serve as a backup to the PNT provided by GPS. The partnership between Aerospacelab and Xona aims to enhance navigation solutions by leveraging each other’s strengths in small satellite design, manufacturing, and operations, as well as specialized knowledge in PNT payloads.
The possibilities for improved navigation services are vast with Xona’s PNT technology integrated into Aerospacelab’s satellite platforms. This partnership signifies a step towards advancing satellite technology and creating more reliable and secure navigation systems for various applications.
