Mercer University’s College of Professional Advancement (COPA) is set to host its sixth annual Informatics Day on April 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the university’s Atlanta campus in the Administration and Conference Center, Room 190. This year’s theme focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Health Informatics, with Dr. Awatef A. Ben Ramadan, assistant professor of health informatics and the event organizer, highlighting the importance of bringing professionals in informatics specialties such as AI, data science, cybersecurity, and health informatics to give presentations to informatics students.

Informatics Day is presented by COPA’s Department of Informatics and Mathematics with the purpose of engaging students with professionals in the field and promoting the College’s technology-related programs. Dr. Feng Liu, professor of informatics and chair of the informatics and mathematics department, emphasized the department’s commitment to serving the community through technology.

The event will feature presentation sessions aimed at expanding students’ knowledge of the informatics field and related job opportunities. The lineup for this year includes a Cybersecurity Specialist/Business Information Security Officer, a Robotic Software Engineer, an FBI Agent, three outstanding Mercer informatics alumni, and representatives from the Mercer Center for Career and Professional Development.
