Devan Chemicals, based in Ronse, Belgium, has recently introduced a revolutionary sustainable technology that is PFC-free and utilizes biobased content to target stains on textiles. The Devan Stain Release textile finishing solution is designed to prevent water- and oil-based stains from deeply adhering to fibers, making it easy to remove them from the surface. This innovative technology combines both stain release and wicking properties for effective protection of textiles.

The solution is particularly suitable for cotton and cotton blends but can also enhance the performance of synthetic materials. It can be used across various textile categories such as home textiles, bedding accessories, mattress ticking, school uniforms, garments, workwear, and apparel. Devan Stain Release is a ready-to-use product that contains 40% bio-based content, eliminating the need for mixing different products. This not only simplifies the application process but also contributes to the longevity of fabrics by reducing the frequency of washing.

Dr. Roberto Teixeira, chief technology officer at Devan Chemicals, commented on the new solution: “Our team has put in considerable effort to create a product that not only offers exceptional stain release but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability. By providing protection against both water- and oil-based stains, we are empowering consumers to enjoy their textiles with peace of mind, knowing they are safeguarded against everyday spills and accidents.” The goal is to promote a more sustainable consumption cycle by extending the life of textiles and minimizing the environmental impact of frequent washing.
