The Kentucky LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Fair took place in Lexington over the weekend, marking its first time holding the event. Organized by Shannon Ashley, the fair was a response to community members seeking access to health resources and information. Over 40 vendors participated in the event, offering a diverse range of information and services.

Among the vendors were health-related organizations, as well as organizations like Camp Beacon, the Lexington Pride Center, and Trans Parent Lex. In addition to informational tables, free rapid HIV tests were available at the fair. These tests, along with preventative resources, were provided to attendees to promote health and wellness within the LGBTQ+ community.

Glenn Means, a committee member for the fair, expressed the importance of connecting individuals with healthcare services and resources through events like this. The success of the Kentucky LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Fair has sparked discussions about continuing the event in the future. Plans are underway to potentially host the fair again next year, offering even more opportunities for the LGBTQ+ community in Kentucky to access necessary resources and support.
