In just a few weeks, the 2024 World Olympic Games Qualifier will take place, giving athletes from around the world one final chance to earn a spot in the upcoming Paris Olympics. Among the US competitors are Spencer Lee and Zain Retherford in men’s freestyle wrestling, aiming to qualify at 57 kg and 65 kg respectively. Meanwhile, Dalton Roberts, Ellis Coleman, and Kamal Bey will be competing in Greco-Roman wrestling at 60 kg, 67 kg, and 77 kg.
The brackets for the event can be found on the UWW Arena website. The schedule for the event includes preliminary rounds in Greco-Roman wrestling on the first day, followed by qualification rounds for the Paris 2024 Olympics. On day two, there will be preliminary rounds in women’s freestyle wrestling and repechage in Greco-Roman, with qualification rounds for women taking place later in the day. Finally, on day three of competition, there will be preliminary rounds in men’s freestyle wrestling followed by qualification rounds and medal matches.
Throughout the event, athletes will have the opportunity to compete for coveted Olympic spots. Bronze medal matches and qualification rounds will determine who will represent their countries at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
