The annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 3 has been extended by an additional four days, as reported by Power of Industry (TWO). This delay is due to further research needed on the turbine-generator. The maintenance is now expected to be completed on May 14. However, TVO also stated that the annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 2 would end the following day, Thursday, and preparations for its start-up were already in progress.

Both Olkiluoto 2 and Olkiluoto 3 have experienced longer-than-planned maintenance schedules, impacting the start-up schedule of Olkiluoto 3, which has been revised multiple times. This delay in annual maintenance has had an effect on electricity prices on the exchange in recent weeks. Originally, the end date for Olkiluoto 3’s maintenance was April 8 and Olkiluoto 2’s maintenance was set to end on May 6.
