OKWU Baseball secured their spot in the upcoming NAIA national tournament after claiming their first conference championship title since 2019. The Eagles needed to win all four games in the KCAC tournament to advance, and they did just that. They defeated Friends University twice, as well as Tabor and conference leaders Kansas Wesleyan to take home the conference crown.

The title game was won by Ashton Luerta’s outstanding performance on the mound. Facing only 12 batters, Luerta struck out 11 of them, showcasing his dominance. Head Coach Kirk Kelly praised Luerta’s performance during the game.

OKWU is eagerly awaiting the announcement of their first-round opponent for the NAIA tournament next Monday. Coach Kelly expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to potentially win a national championship this season. More details regarding the team’s first-round opponent will be revealed later this week after the announcement on Thursday. Check back for updates on Wesleyan’s journey in the tournament.
