The Bismarck Bobcats, UND Fighting Hawks, and the Fargo Force joined forces to raise $24,000 for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation. The funds raised will go towards a program called Sources of Strength, which aims to spread mental health research and curriculum in rural areas of the state.

Sources of Strength will teach students that everyone faces challenges and will provide them with strategies to cope effectively. By promoting mental health awareness and education, the program aims to empower individuals to overcome adversity and build resilience. Amber Blomberg, the executive director of the BCBSND Caring Foundation, emphasized the importance of providing tools for both youth and adults to successfully navigate life’s challenges.

The money will be used to support four school districts in the northeastern corner of North Dakota, enabling them to implement mental health services and curriculum. This program is especially important in rural areas where access to mental health resources can be limited. By providing these resources, Sources of Strength hopes to create a more supportive and healthy community for everyone.
