The NFL has announced changes to the kickoff rules for the 2024 season, with the aim of improving player safety and enhancing the game. This news was discussed by USA Today’s Safid Deen in a recent article.

In addition to these rule changes, the NFL’s internal media arm has also undergone some cuts. Four prominent on-air personalities, including Andrew Siciliano, Melissa Stark, Will Selva, and James Palmer, will not be returning for the upcoming season. These decisions were made as part of the league’s regular evaluation process of its talent roster to meet programming needs.

Andrew Siciliano, who has hosted “RedZone” on DirecTV since 2005, will no longer be part of the NFL Network’s lineup. The rights to “RedZone” were acquired by Google and YouTube TV, leading to production changes. Will Selva, who provided news updates for the morning show “Good Morning Football,” is also no longer with the network. The show is currently on hiatus and moving production to Los Angeles, with an uncertain future ahead.

Melissa Stark will continue in her role as a contributor and sideline reporter for “Sunday Night Football,” while James Palmer has revealed that his contract was bought out by the network after serving as a national reporter and correspondent since 2015.

As ESPN has been mentioned as a potential buyer for operations takeover of NFL Media, which is owned and controlled by the league, it remains unclear what changes may come in terms of talent lineup or overall operations for this upcoming season
