Passenger Pam Pardy was ecstatic to see so many of her fellow Newfoundlanders on the Celebrity Apex ship, which hosted 500 passengers from the province. Pardy had booked the trip more than a year ago and was thrilled to find out that a large group of her compatriots had also reserved spots on the same voyage. Despite being initially hesitant about sailing with strangers, Pardy found a sense of community among her fellow Newfoundlanders that made the experience special and unique.

During the cruise, passengers wore t-shirts featuring the Newfoundland and Labrador flag and displayed it over their deck chairs. Pardy recounted instances of hearing the distinct Newfoundland accent and local phrases while walking around the ship, which added to the feeling of camaraderie among the Newfoundland guests. The shared experience of being surrounded by fellow Newfoundlanders, while in the Caribbean, created a sense of familiarity and comfort for Pardy and other passengers.

On the final night of the voyage, the Newfoundlanders gathered on deck to take a group photo and sing Ode to Newfoundland, their official anthem. The experience was memorable and cherished for all involved, making it an unforgettable adventure for those who were fortunate enough to be part of it.
