The Philadelphia Department of Public Health has established resource hubs in five different neighborhoods across the city. These hubs, operated by the Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention, offer a complimentary starter kit of nicotine replacement therapies (NRT) to those looking to quit smoking.

Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) includes products like patches, gum, and lozenges that can help manage tobacco withdrawal and aid in quitting smoking. Using a combination of NRT products is considered safe and effective. Individuals above the age of 18 are eligible to receive a kit, and only basic information like zip code and previous NRT usage will be requested.

Recipients of NRT at the resource hubs are provided with instructions on how to effectively use the products as part of a one-time starter kit. For those seeking additional NRT supplies and counseling options, information for Pennsylvania’s Quitline is provided for free. The resource hubs are open to the public for walk-ins at specified locations and hours in South, North, South Street, Southwest, and Northwest Philadelphia.

If you are interested in quitting smoking and receiving a complimentary NRT starter kit, visit any of the resource hubs during their operational hours without needing to schedule an appointment.
