Emplify Health is the new name of Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System, which have officially merged. The merger was completed in December 2022, and the new name reflects their shared goal of increasing access to healthcare, fostering a culture of empathy, and enhancing population health outcomes.

Scott Rathgaber, CEO of both Bellin and Gundersen Health System, explained that Emplify is a combination of “empathy” and “amplify,” representing their commitment to understanding and improving the well-being of their patients and communities. The rebranding process will take place over the next few months, with all hospitals and clinics changing their name to Emplify Health.

While entities like Gundersen Medical Foundation and The Bellin Health Foundation will retain their names, funds received by each foundation will continue to be used for the purposes intended by the donors. Patients of Emplify Health can expect to receive care from the same providers and staff at the same locations they are familiar with. Rathgaber mentioned that the transition to Emplify Health is expected to take several years to complete.
