A new McDonald’s is set to open on the west side of Sioux Falls, with construction beginning on April 25, 2024. The restaurant will be located on the northeast corner of 41st Street and Ellis Road, and will serve the needs of the community with its prime location near residential neighborhoods and schools.

Franchisee Jordan Hartshorn expressed his excitement for the new location, stating that it will better serve the west side of the city and create job opportunities for locals. The design of the restaurant will resemble that on East 26th Street and will feature a double-lane drive-thru and a slightly smaller dining area. However, digital orders and curbside delivery will be emphasized, with six to nine curbside pickup stalls and three to four courier pickup stalls available.

Hartshorn highlighted the importance of catering to digital customers by designing a store from scratch that meets their needs. The new location is expected to hire a crew of 60 to 70 people, including management positions. With many employees living in the area, some team members may transfer to the new store, creating growth opportunities within the organization. The plan is to open later in the summer to meet the needs of the community.

Job positions for the new restaurant are currently being posted for those interested in joining
