In the interim, Dr. Herbie Duber has been appointed as the acting Health Officer while they begin their search for a permanent replacement. Dr. Duber currently serves as the Washington State Department of Health Regional Medical Officer for Northwest Washington and has extensive medical experience in healthcare policy and programs, as well as serving as a liaison between local public health and the Department of Health.

As the acting Health Officer, Dr. Duber will be responsible for maintaining the health and wellness of the community by working with local organizations such as schools and medical centers.
