Madison Realty Capital has appointed Samir Tejpaul as head of capital markets, according to a statement made by the private equity firm on Monday. Tejpaul, previously from Affinius Capital, officially began his new role on April 1 in New York and will be reporting to Brian Shatz and Josh Zegen, the co-founders and managing principals of Madison Realty Capital.

During his time at Affinius, Tejpaul was involved in various deals involving transitional bridge debt, construction, and commercial mortgage-backed securities loans. Before joining Square Mile in 2018, he worked as a vice president in Deutsche Bank’s commercial real estate group. Tejpaul also currently serves as the chair of the Alternative Lenders & High Yield Investors Forum within the CRE Finance Council. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University.

Shatz and Zegen praised Tejpaul’s experience and relationships within the real estate industry, emphasizing the importance of experienced lenders with stability and certainty of execution in today’s market.
