In his state of the county address, Bill Rivenbark, chairman of the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners, highlighted the community’s achievements in various areas over the past year. Workforce housing was another key focus of his address, with the county committing $15 million over five years to address this crucial need. Rivenbark also addressed school funding, showcasing New Hanover County’s investment in education through per-student funding, infrastructure improvements, and support for programs like pre-K, school nurses, and school resource officers.
