The CGT union has announced that it will not respect an Olympic truce and has filed strike notices in the three branches of the civil service, covering the period from April 15 to September 15, which includes the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The union is requesting long-term recruitment, salary compensation, rights to leave, teleworking options, and disconnection rights. They anticipate sectoral strikes and have expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s response to their requests.

Sophie Binet, the general secretary of the CGT, emphasized the need for the government to take immediate action to ensure the success of the Games, as they have been voicing their concerns for months with no response. The union is mobilizing civil servants to address their grievances and push for better working conditions during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
