The BBC has appointed Alex Kay-Jelski as the new Director of Sport, replacing Barbara Slater after 14 years in the role. Kay-Jelski, who previously served as the sports editor for both The Times and Daily Mail, is excited to join BBC Sport and work with a talented team. Before joining the BBC, Kay-Jelski played a key role in establishing the international arm of The Athletic, a sports subscription website, and helped it gain over a million subscribers in a relatively short period. His experience as a sports editor at leading publications has equipped him with the necessary skills and expertise to lead BBC Sport in the right direction.
