Nestlé has chosen Mantua as the location for its new wet pet food production factory, investing a total of 472 million euros in the Valdaro industrial area. This decision was announced by Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, following a meeting with Marco Travaglia, president and CEO of Nestlé Italiana. The project is considered strategically important by the CAIE, the Interministerial Committee for attracting foreign investments, and will also involve the construction of a new logistics hub.
The agricultural supply chain is expected to benefit significantly, with an estimated 50 million euros per year in agricultural products and 30 million euros per year for packaging and industrial services. The plant is scheduled to be completed by 2027.
Minister Adolfo Urso emphasized the significance of Nestlé’s decision to strengthen its presence in Italy, highlighting the country’s importance as a production site for global companies. He praised the teamwork that led to the successful realization of the project, with the Ministry providing essential support to the investor throughout the process.
Nestlé’s Marco Travaglia expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the Ministry, acknowledging Italy’s strategic role in the rapidly growing sector. He also thanked his team for their hard work and dedication throughout this project.
