N.C. State is on a roll in the NCAA Tournament, as they have won eight straight games, including a crucial victory in the ACC Tournament that secured their spot in March Madness. The Wolfpack’s latest win was against Marquette, 67-58, which propelled them to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1986.

Leading the way for N.C. State was DJ Horne with 19 points, Casey Morsell with 15 points and Mohamed Diarra with a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds. This victory took place on the 50th anniversary of N.C. State’s first national championship in 1974 when they defeated Marquette for the title.

The Wolfpack are now positioned to make another run at the national championship, much like they did in 1983 when they made it to the Final Four. As they continue their journey towards making history once again, N.C. State will face either No. 1 seed Houston or No. 4 seed Duke in the Elite Eight.

N.C. State has shown resilience and determination throughout their tournament run so far, just as they did back in ’74 when they won the ACC Tournament and went on to secure their first national title.
