On Tuesday morning, a YouTube livestream captured a large ship crashing into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Maryland. The vessel, which is Singapore-flagged and 984 feet long, struck a support beam of the bridge, causing it to collapse into the water.

The video from StreamTime Live showed that the ship approached the bridge around 1:24 a.m. local time, with its lights turning off briefly before impact. The vessel then collided with the beam at around 1:28 a.m., resulting in the bridge collapsing in less than 10 seconds.

According to ship tracking data, the vessel involved in the crash was the Dali, owned by Grace Ocean and managed by Synergy Marine Group, both based in Singapore. Attempts to reach both companies for comment were unsuccessful.

Following the incident, the bridge was closed off by the Maryland Transportation Authority due to the collapse caused by the ship strike. The Baltimore Police Department reported a partial bridge collapse with workers possibly in the water. At the time of reporting, no further comment from the Maryland Transportation Authority was available on Business Insider’s request.
