The 2024 World Beer Cup saw six Minnesota brewers receive medals for their exceptional beers. These awards make Minnesota the state with the most medals at the prestigious competition, which takes place annually in Las Vegas and attracts over 9,000 entries from 2,000 breweries worldwide.

Two Minnesota breweries won gold medals for their German-style ales: Bent Paddle Brewing Co.’s “Little Dussel Do-Ya” and Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub’s “Dopplebock.” Excelsior Brewing Co.’s “Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale” received a silver medal, while Lupulin Brewing’s “Dortmunder/Export of German-Style Oktoberfest” also received a silver medal. BeerClub Brewing’s “Doppel (doppel) Bock (bock)” received a bronze medal, as did Pryes Brewing Co.’s “Idyll Forest – Soirée.”

Bob Galligan, director of government and industry relations for the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, expressed his pride in these achievements. He stated that these awards demonstrate the world-class quality of beer produced in Minnesota and that they are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our state’s brewers.
