Logboat Brewing Co. in Columbia received recognition at the World Beer Cup last week for two of their signature beers. Dark Matter, a wheat porter featuring a narwhal on its can, won silver in the Brown Porter category. This beer has a 6.6% ABV and flavors of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Mamoot, an English Mild or Bitter variety, earned bronze at the competition. The laid back little brother to a brown ale is perfect for breakfast with its 4% ABV.

River Bluff Brewing from St. Joseph, Missouri also took home an award at the event, winning gold in the American-Belgo-Style Ale category with their Sandy Dunes ale. This Belgian style ale is unfiltered and boasts peppery and fruity flavors. The World Beer Cup Awards were presented during the CraftBrewers Conference and BrewExpo America in Las Vegas on April 24th.
